Cofinimmo named one of Europe’s Climate Leaders 2025 for the third consecutive year
On April 24th 2025, the reputed media Financial Times has published its new ranking of Europe Climate Leaders 2025. For the third year in a row, Cofinimmo is included in that prestigious ranking of Europe & UK companies that achieve the best score on Sustainability efforts, based on the methodology used by Statista, a global data and business intelligence platform.
Recognition that reinforces Cofinimmo’s sustainability ambitions
Cofinimmo improves its ranking compared to the two previous years.
- In the Europe & UK property sector, Cofinimmo ranks 4th on 39 property companies.
- There are 14 other Belgian companies awarded, among which only 2 other real estate companies.
- Cofinimmo has the 4th best score among Belgian companies (all sectors).
A rigorous selection process
The 2025 list highlights companies that have significantly reduced their Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions intensity between 2018 and 2023.
- Scope 1: emissions from direct company operations
- Scope 2: emissions linked to energy consumption
Results are measured in tons of CO₂ equivalent per 1 million EUR in revenue.
The evaluation also takes into account:
- Transparency around Scope 3 emissions (value chain)
- Engagement with recognised initiatives such as CDP and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
- All factors are combined into an overall score, determining each company’s final ranking.
