Cofinimmo launched its activities in healthcare real estate in France in 2008 through the acquisition of 100% of the shares of a limited company incorporated in France. This transaction resulted in the creation of the group’s French branch and the addition of 32 nursing and care homes to its healthcare portfolio. Since then, the French portfolio keeps growing. It now mainly consists of nursing and care homes, rehabilitation and psychiatric clinics.

THE NURSING AND CARE HOME ‘VILLA BAUCIS’ IN FONTAINEBLEAU
Cofinimmo recently took delivery of the Villa Baucis nursing and care home in Fontainebleau (south-east of Paris). The site is close to the city centre, the hospital, the railway station and several bus lines, making it easily accessible. The existing building was redeveloped and a new wing was built to house the activities of independent operator Villa Baucis, which until now had been carried out in another facility in Fontainebleau not owned by Cofinimmo.
The complex has a total surface area of approximately 6,500 m² and offers 90 beds as well as 10 day-care units. In terms of ESG, the construction work was carried out in compliance with RT2012 thermal regulations, the benchmark for new buildings in France.
The facility's architecture and working methods have been entirely designed for residents suffering from Alzheimer's disease, based on an innovative concept. These include specially trained staff, a non-medicinal approach, the involvement of families and increased patient mobility based on a wide range of cognitive and sensory activities
