Obligation to distribute dividends
At least 80 % of the sum of the corrected result and the net gains on the realisation of property assets not exonerated from the distribution obligation must be distributed by the RREC. The debt decrease during the period can however be deducted from the amount to be distributed.

Optional dividend in shares
Since 2011, the Board of Directors offers the ordinary as well as the preference shareholders the choice between:
- The payment of the dividend in new ordinary shares,
- The payment of the dividend in cash, or
- A combination of these two payment modalities.
A 30 % withholding tax applies on dividends paid by a RREC.
This rate can be reduced according to treaties for the avoidance of double taxation. In order to benefit from this reduction, an official form 276 DIV-AUT that can be uploaded on the website of the federal tax authorities must be filled by the beneficial owner of the dividends and provided to Cofinimmo SA/NV.
Under Belgian law, a full/partial withholding tax exemption can be obtained for dividends paid to shareholder meeting the specific conditions required by the law.
